Dryden Athlete Wins Golds At Provincial Special Olympic Games

Special Olympic provincial games were held in Brampton, ON from July 13th to 16th.

Region 8 which is covering Manitoba border to Thunder Bay sent a small team of just 9 athletes to compete in the summer games including Dryden girl Dominique Gardner.

Gardner competed in the 3000m, 1500m and the 800m winning Gold for all three track events.

Next step is the selection process for nationals in Nova Scotia next summer, the selection is done on an equity scale, competition times and endorsement.

Gardner will find out if she is selected for the Ontario team in December!
