The City of Dryden is working with the Canadian Red Cross to land a
Northwest Response Convention in 2009.
The disaster management training would be the first step towards
establishing Dryden as a regional evacuation centre.
Director of Community Services Bill Latham says it’s a great opportunity
for the Municipality.
Latham says the long term goal is to have Dryden designated an
evacuation centre to house displaced residents in the event of an emergency.
The Conference will be held next year and will last 3-days to a week.
