Dryden Businessman Warns Of Devastating Results From Proposed Tax Changes

More local concern and strong opposition to proposed federal tax changes.

Speaking as a business owner, Dryden’s Greg Wilson says the federal government is just not getting the message of the devastating impact the changes will have on local business owners and the economy of northwestern Ontario.

Wilson has sent Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Kenora MP Bob Nault a letter outlining four main concerns.

He says the government changes are enough for any small or medium sized business owner to downsize or get out of the game all together. Wilson notes Justin Trudeau is effectively saying that only Government and large public corporations should be encouraged to own a business. He says the government is making it clear that individuals in Canada are no longer rewarded for building capital and owning equity, in other words, growing a business.

Wilson adds he would be penalized for trying to pass his family business on to his children.

He isn’t buying for a second words from the Primer Minister that his government is making life better and more fair for average and middle-class Canadians. Wilson says it’s time for Justin Trudeau to do an about face right now or warns everyone is going to pay for it.
