Dryden CAO OK With Delay On OPP Costing Decision

Dryden’s Chief Administrative Officer has no issues with a Council decision to hold off on a vote to pursue an OPP costing study.

Ernie Remillard notes what’s another month, stating the extra time will give Council more time to make an even more informed decision.

Remillard says the time extension will give the Police Association and Police Board an opportunity to gather more information.

Remillard stresses it’s a sensitive topic and notes Council is torn on the issue.

Council went back and forth on the issue Monday night and even reneged on a vote to not allow a time extension.

He adds this is just the due diligence phase and they haven’t even reached the final decision stage.

The topic will be brought up again June 12th, with a vote on whether or not to pursue a costing study on June 19th.
