Two southern Ontario men have been fined a total of $7,000 for hunting infractions north of Atikokan last October.
Court was told Miguel Campelo and Norberto Vieira were first spotted by a conservation officer and an OPP officer conducting aerial patrols.
Their investigation revealed one of the men had a calf license, but shot a bull moose, while the other, hunting seven kilometres away, later attached his bull moose tag to the animal.
Court heard Campelo initially lied about who shot the animal before a canine unit was brought in and recovered evidence linking the true hunter.
Campelo has been suspended from hunting for one year.
