Dryden Chamber Looking At Business Retention

The Dryden District Chamber of Commerce is working with a number of organizations and communities to launch a Business Retention and Expansion program.
Chamber Manager Gwen Kurz says they will take a close look at business needs and what needs to be done to promote further expansion, growth and create new jobs.
Kurz says the study is a long time coming and is expected to cost roughly $75,000.
Kurz notes the next step is finding interested partners.
The Municipality of Machin, Patricia Area Community Endeavours, the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines, the Northwest Training and Adjustment Board and the Dryden Development Corporation are already on board.
The DDC is providing $5,000 and in-kind support for the project.
Kurz says they are also speaking with Ignace, Eagle Lake, Wabigoon and the Patricia Region Tourist Council.
Work is expected to begin in January and conclude in June 2015.
