Arie Hoogenboom is set to enjoy retirement today (Friday) after 9-years of service as Dryden City Manager.
Hoogenboom was instrumental in drafting Dryden’s first strategic plan as well as develop community revitalization strategies.
Hoogenboom arrived in Dryden at the end of the economic boom and he believes we have weathered the storm.
He also had his hand in several infrastructure projects including the new fire hall, police station and new sewage treatment plant.
Hoogenboom retires with an active hand in physician recruitment as well as the expansion of DMTS and Dryden Mobility.
However, he says its the people he will miss the most.
Hoogenboom says after spending time with his family, golf clubs and fishing rod, he will likely be back in the community actively involved in volunteer work.
He retires with a total of 34-years in Municipal service under his belt.
Meantime, the City is updating its official plan and a public meeting is set for May 25th at the Dryden Fire Hall.
