Dryden Mayor Greg Wilson says northwestern Ontario communities are getting short-changed by the province.
Wilson is calling on the government to starting handling transfer payments for municipalities in a “fair and transparent” way.
He says the time to push the government is now, given its an election year.
Wilson says under the current system, communities like Dryden aren’t getting their fair share of funding, or are getting nothing at all.
Dryden Council has endorsed a resolution calling for a fair and transparent system and that will be brought forward for approval at the upcoming KDMA meeting.
