Dryden Councilor Looking Forward To Conference

Dryden Councilor Brian Collins is looking forward to the Kenora District Municipal Association Conference which begins today.
Collins is also the city rep for the KDMA.
He adds the conference will focus on the energy, mining and forestry sectors.
Collins says it’s going to be a great experience because all the municipalities are coming together to discuss common issues.
One issue that’s going to get a lot of feedback is the assessment of the Domtar Mill and its operations in Dryden.
Collins says another topic of importance is the proposed East-West corridor, which will help the transfer of goods and services to the remote North and the Ring of Fire.
There have been talks of a North-South route, and Collins says that would not be beneficial to the region and hopes that something can be worked out.
The meeting is being held at the Best Western.
