A Dryden Councilor is fed up with the current state of the Trans-Canada
Highway through Northwestern Ontario.
Mel Fisher presented a motion to Council Monday which was approved
calling on the Government to build the road to the same standard as other
provinces.
Fisher says the motion will go to the Kenora District Municipal
Association for approval.
Fisher says he would like to see additional passing lanes, flat and
shallow ditches, wide shoulders and more rest stops.
Fisher says the Government is not treating
our area as an equal part of Canada.
He adds the flow of traffic on the Trans-Canada in Northern Ontario
is an essential component of the Canadian economy.
