Dryden Couple OK After Plane Crash

A Dryden couple walked away unharmed following a small float plane crash in Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia Wednesday afternoon.

Darcy Oliphant spoke to CBC News in Nova Scotia and said he was flying across a ridge when his plane lost lift and started to sink.

The aircraft crashed in a densely forested area, making recovery efforts difficult.

Oliphant told CBC that he’s flown in challenging conditions but nothing like this.

Darcy is a veteran pilot of 18-years.

He and wife Tammy were visiting friends in Nova Scotia and were returning home.

The RCMP say the Transportation Safety Board is now investigating the cause.
