Dryden Mayor Greg Wilson believes their concerns were heard at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference in Ottawa.
Wilson was joined by Councillor John Carlucci and Chief Administrative Officer Roger Nesbitt.
The local delegation met with the Minister’s of Finance, Infrastructure, as well as Cabinet Minister and Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford.
They also sat down with three officials from the Ministries of Transportation, Community Safety and Correctional Services as well as Natural Resources and Forestry.
Wilson says issues discussed included funding for road upgrades and a potential Highway 502 landfill turn-off lane to ease congestion.
He says they also talked about firefighter training related to new provincial regulations, the future of the forestry industry as well as assistance for increased education related to the urban deer problem facing the community.
One long-standing issue of concern for Wilson was addressed.
That is extra police funding as a result of an increase in calls for service over the past three years.
Wilson says there is a trend there that they are concerned about.
