Dryden District Museum Looking Ahead

The Dryden District Museum is looking for a bigger and better 2014.
The Museum is down to one full time staff member and Municipal contributions are expected to drop about $39,000 this year.
The Museum budget for 2014 is pegged at nearly $132,000, some $38,000 down from last year.
Chair Pat Norman says they are launching a membership drive to get more people through the doors.
Norman says they are hoping to attract more businesses and groups as well as add more programs.
Last year, 1,400 people visited the Museum.
Norman adds they also want the City to revise a policy so they can have volunteers look after the building when the Curator is away.
Norman says having volunteers man the Museum will help them bring in more money.
She notes they had over 100-volunteers last year, with over 1,400-volunteer hours recorded.
