Dryden Dolphins Hosting Major Swim Meet

Young swimmers from across northwestern Ontario will be making some waves this weekend.

The Dryden Dolphins are hosting the SPLASH 2018 Swim Meet.

Dolphins members Taylor and Adam Millard and Brooke Young joined Meet Manager Corrine Owen and Coach Jason Owen on the CKDR Morning Show Thursday to promote the event.

Corrine Owen says the meet has attracted athletes between the ages of 6 and 16 from the Red Lake Gold Fins, Fort Frances Cyclones, Kenora Swimming, Thunder Bay Superior Sea Lions, Thunder Bay Northwest Narwhals and Thunder Bay Thunder Bolts.

Races start Friday night at 6:30 with the 800-metre distance race.

There are two sessions Saturday between 10:0am-1:00pm and 3:30pm-6:30pm

The meet concludes Sunday between 10:00am-1:00pm

The event is open to the public and admission is free.

There will be a fundraising raffle and 50/50 draw all day Saturday.
