Dryden Council has responded to an appeal for assistance issued by Thunder Bay.
The Lakehead is still reeling from a major flood in May and a group has been formed to raise $5-million to help those affected by the water damage.
Dryden Council has agreed to donate $1,000 to the cause.
The province will match that funding.
The timing of the donation is perfect as the Disaster Relief Committee is having a difficult time raising the funds.
The deadline for fundraising is the end of November.
Committee Chair Wayne Fletcher says they’ve raised only $900,000 so far.
