The City of Dryden, Regional Health Centre, the Dryden Native Friendship Centre and Patricia Regional Senior Services are all involved in a two-year pilot project looking at transportation needs in the community.
Spokesperson Sally Ledger says they are taking a close look at Handi-Transit as well as providing public transportation service to everyone in the community.
Ledger says they’ve hired a consultant to work with community members and they plan to have something in place for next year on a trial basis.
She notes a current “Community Connections” program is currently offered and they provide 500 to 600 rides each month.
Ledger says they want to expand on that initiative.
