The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario is rejecting the province’s latest contract offer, calling it a “cookie-cutter” approach.
President Sam Hammond says it doesn’t address teachers needs or the needs of students.
In Queen’s Park, Education Minister Liz Sandals asked the EFTO to re-consider.
Sandals says the deal is similar to the tentative contract reached with high school and catholic teachers.
Teachers are working-to-rule, but EFTO warns that action could escalate if there’s no change to the province’s and school board’s position.
