Although only one person has filed papers for the October municipal election, the City of Dryden is confident interest will build.
Clerk Debra Kincaid says 15-individuals attended a recent candidates session and several people have requested a registration package.
The deadline to file is July and so far Jason Owen is the only one vying for a seat on Council.
Kincaid says anyone interested in running for office must have their nomination papers signed by 25-eligible voters.
The required fee for a member of Council is $100 and $200 for Mayor.
You must be a resident of Dryden and over the age of 18.
Nomination packages can be picked up at City Hall or by visiting www.dryden.ca/en/city-services/elections.aspx
Election day is October 22nd.
