The Ministry of Natural Resources has made a lot of headway on taming
the 1,000 hectare fire, southwest of Vermilion Bay.
Crews conducted what’s known as a burn-out Friday morning, and a good
chunk of the blaze was backed into Wahnash Lake.
Ministry of Natural Resources Information Officer Travis Moffat notes
the fire is still not under control and adds a ban on open burning is
still in place.
