The 1,000 hectare fire, burning 20-kilometres southwest of
Vermilion Bay, is still classed as out-of-control but crews have gained
the upper hand.
Travis Moffat of the Ministry of Natural Resources says crews have
managed to steer it away from danger.
Moffat warns smoke may still drift into Vermilion Bay and Dryden over
the weekend and adds a Restricted Fire Zone is still in effect.
The fire started Tuesday afternoon and no property is in danger.
More then 150-fires continue to burn in Northwestern Ontario.
