Dryden Fire Chief Supports Proposed Bill

The Chief of the Dryden Fire Service is in favour of a proposed bill that would make carbon monoxide detectors mandatory in all homes.
MPP Ernie Hardeman’s Bill 77 will be debated at second reading at Queen’s Park today.
Ken Kurz says the alarms are essential for the safety of all residents.
Kurz says carbon monoxide is colourless and tasteless and people don’t know that it’s there.
The only situation where carbon monoxide alarms are mandatory is if you built a home after 2006.
Kurz says a lot of people here at home are starting to install the detectors and notes they respond to carbon monoxide calls on a regular basis.
