Dryden Fire Service Provides Safety Tips To End “Fire Prevention Week”

Fire Prevention Week is coming to a close but that’s not stopping the Dryden Fire Service to preach the importance of staying safe.

Chief Ryan Murrell says the theme this year was “Look, Listen and Learn”.

He says to look for hazards in your house such as not keeping cooking unattended, overloaded outlets, not using extension cords as permanent wiring and keeping space heaters in a safe space away from combustibles.

Murrell says when it comes to “Learn”, you should always have two ways out of every room in your home as well as a solid escape plan.
