The Dryden Fire Service says it will now be seeking a qualified service provider for fire dispatching service.
The Dryden Police Services Board has decided to close the Communications Centre on March 31st, 2014.
Fire Chief Ken Kurz says in a media release they will be looking for someone to ensure a seamless transition and continue to provide an efficient and effective level of fire service and emergency response for the City.
Kurz says they are sad to hear the news and they regret the loss of fellow emergency workers.
Kurz adds the Dryden Fire Service was advised by the Dryden Police Services Board on October 16th that their fire dispatching service will discontinue next year.
