Dryden Hires New Chief of Police

The Dryden Police Services Board has announced that Rob Davis is the new Chief of Police, effective August 29th.
Chair Bill Hovi says Davis has extensive experience in policing, particularly with aboriginal issues and combating organized crime.
Davis has worked in a senior management capacity and supervised multi-detachment police forces in Ontario.
Hovi adds Davis has served with the RCMP at the Canadian Police College where he has taught personnel from domestic and international police agencies.
He has also served in auxiliary policing and in-service training roles in the Haldimand-Norfolk Regional Police Service and the Niagara Regional Police Service.
Davis is also a former staff sergeant with Six Nations Police Service near Brantford.
Hovi says Davis has family in the area and is familiar with policing in smaller communities.
Hovi admits the hiring process was long and notes there have been times when community members questioned the process.
However, Hovi believes they have found the right man for the job.
