Sawmill Staff Join CEP

150 maintenance and production workers at the AbitibiBowater Sawmill in Thunder Bay have decided to join the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union.
CEP conducted a 6-month organizing drive and staff voted overwhelmingly last Friday to join the Union.
National Rep. Stephen Boon says they will be spending the next few months preparing to negotiate a new first agreement with AbitibiBowater.
Boon says the mill is one of the most modern sawmills in Eastern Canada and he’s pleased to welcome the skilled group of forestry workers into CEP.
