The Dryden Hospital has received the green light from the Ministry of Health to proceed with its west wing expansion project.
Hospital CEO Andrew Skeene says a contract has been awarded to Manitoba-based firm Pentco Construction which had the lowest tender of 1.9 million dollars.
He says construction should begin within the month with a completion date slated for August.
The new west wing will house programs for mental health, substance abuse and diabetes education as well as enhanced patient food services and a general surgical clinic.
