Dryden is being singled out in a new report from the Ontario Trillium Gift of Life Network.
President Ronnie Gavsie says the community is one of the most giving in all of Ontario.
Gavsie says 44% of the eligible population in Dryden is a registered organ donor.
She notes community is always supportive.
The stats come in a time where more and more of us are signing up to be an organ donor.
About 27% of the eligible population is registered to donate, up from 25% last year and from 16% in 2008.
Gavsie says they are going in the right direction and notes the next step is to sustain the momentum they have in signing up new donors.
She notes public reporting on how well hospitals have identified potential donors and engaging doctors to take greater responsibility for educating and providing families with the opportunity to donate has made a difference.
Over the last year, 271-deceased donors saved the lives of 960-people while 278-living donors helped 213-kidney recipients and 65-liver recipients.
