Dryden Legion Recognizes Soldiers/Members/Cadets

It was a time to remember the soldiers who fought for our freedom during the First World World as well as those who continue to serve.

A special ceremony was held Wednesday night at the Legion in Dryden in recognition of the 101st Anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.

Branch #63 President Doug Miranda says the historic event gave Canada its reputation of being a nation and not a colony of Britain.

He says it’s their job to remember our veterans and keep their memory alive.

Miranda says the evening was also focused on recognizing Legion members and Cadets who serve our community and country.

He notes they are seeing more and more young people joining and serving the community.

Well over 100-people attended the ceremony and Miranda says the support from Dryden area residents continues to be phenomenal.
