Dryden Man Recognized For His Work In Saskatchewan Athletics

A Dryden man has been recognized by the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association.

Greg Hatch has received the Merit Award for his selfless contribution to High School sports in Saskatchewan.

He has spent the past 39-years establishing sports and recreation programs in the La Loche area.

Hatch is considered a leader in the North West District of the Association, instrumental in leading several teams in cross-country, volleyball, basketball and track and field.

He has also coached each and every minor hockey team in the community.

Hatch also established a Development Fund that supports sports travel for youth in the area.

He has led various teams to two provincial championships, two bronze medals and three other appearances.

Hatch has also coached teams at the Indigenous Winter Games, Saskatchewan Summer and Winter Games and the Saskatchewan Volleyball provincial teams at Westerns and Nationals.

In 2005, Hatch was awarded with the Lieutenant Governor’s Volunteer Medal.
