Transportation links highlighted conversations at the recent Ontario Good Roads Conference in Toronto.
Dryden Mayor Craig Nuttall addressed a number of issues with Transportation Minister Glen Murray.
Nuttall believes he’s close to securing funding to fix Duke Street.
He also called on the province to properly maintain Highway 17 through town as well as improve the rail system across the country in an effort to reduce transport traffic.
Nuttall notes in one day he had 5 meetings with provincial ministers and government officials.
Nuttall says one meeting was with the Minister of Municipal Affairs about the current financial situation in Dryden.
He says the minister was receptive and open to helping out the community.
Nuttall also learned that the Province plans to upload court supervision costs.
