Dryden Mayor Comments On Funding And Meeting

Dryden Mayor Craig Nuttall says the City will have a new and improved underpass by the end of the year.
Nuttall is reacting to news that the Municipality has received funding to upgrade the King Street underpass.
The Province is funding 80% of the roughly $800,000 project.
The City has allocated the remaining 20% in the 2013 budget.
Nuttall says he’s pleased they received the funding considering the province received $400-million worth of requests.
Nuttall says the tender for construction closes the third week of August and notes they hope to begin work with the selected contractor immediately after.
He stresses the City will work with the business community to minimize the impact of construction.
Nuttall also met with Minister of Infrastructure Glen Murray and Minister of Northern Development and Mines Michael Gravelle in Kenora.
He says the gathering went well and notes they learned more about other pockets of funding available.
He adds both Minister’s promised to help Dryden as much as they can.
