Dryden Mayor Reacts To Gas Fund Agreement

The federal government has announced that more than $8-billion will flow to Ontario municipalities under a renewed 10-year gas tax fund.
The money will be handled by the Association of Municipalities of Ontario.
Dryden Mayor Craig Nuttall is pleased with the agreement but believes more should be done to help local communities.
Nuttall is asking the province to establish a 5-year road program that provides annual funding.
The Feds say the gas tax money will go to a wider variety of projects but Nuttall believes it should be solely for road upgrades.
He notes Thunder Lake Road is just one of many that need to be upgraded and notes northern communities don’t have the funds to carry out the work.
