Dryden Mayor Set To Address Policing Concerns With Minister

Outgoing Dryden Mayor Craig Nuttall has lined up one more meeting with the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services.

This will be his fourth sit down meeting with Yasir Naqvi and it will occur at the end of the month in Toronto.

Nuttall says he will be asking the Minister to approve a grant application for new computer equipment for the City’s fleet of police cruisers.

Nuttall says the technology will allow officers to work on the road and still have a visual presence in the community.

He says another issue is providing court security.

Nuttall notes the Police Service currently has one full-time constable and two part-time constables dedicated to court security which takes up time and money.

Another concern for the Dryden Police Services Board is providing security when transporting individuals to the hospital.

Nuttall stresses he has a great working relationship with the Minister.
