Dryden Municipal Budget Approved

Dryden Council has put the stamp of approval on the 2010 City Budget.
The fiscal document includes a tax increase of 3.9%
Finance Chair Gary Case says the budget hinges on $1.4-million in transitional funding from the Province.
Councilor Brian Collins warns that if the City doesn’t receive that money, they could be saddled with a large deficit.
Staff warn that if the City is not approved for transitional funding, then deep cuts will have to be made this summer in capital and operating budgets as well as service levels.
The budget includes $23.5-million in operational spending.
