Dryden Officer Injured In Incident Involving Youth

A Dryden Police officer received minor injuries following an incident involving a young individual Wednesday afternoon.

Police responded to a break and enter at a Whyte Avenue residence around 5:30.

When officers arrived, a youth fled the scene, prompting a chase on foot.

A Dryden resident witnessed the pursuit and helped in the arrest of the accused.

Police say the youth continued to fight with the officer during the arrest.

Police say the accused faces two counts of assaulting police, resisting arrest, obstructing justice and two counts of failing to comply with orders of the court.

Police continue to investigate.
