Passenger rail service has not been available in Dryden since the
early 90’s and the push is on to bring it back.
The City has agreed to contribute $1,000 to a Thunder Bay
Consultant who is looking at the viability of the service from Sudbury to
Winnipeg.
Dryden Councilor Brian Collins feels it’s important that they take part
in the $100,000 study.
The proposed reduction in bus service, highway conditions and tourism
opportunities were all factors in Dryden’s decision to participate.
Via Rail has also agreed to take part in the study.
