The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has taken over pet control services in the city of Dryden.
The city and the OSPCA have entered into a three year contract agreement.
The OSPCA has one full-time agent and three part-timers available to help with animal cruelty calls and humane awareness.
Dryden Police Chief Shayne MacKinnon says the group will soon have the power to enforce city pet bylaws once agents are sworn-in.
The group has 10 kennels for use at the city pound for both cats and dogs.
Some animals may be available for adoption.
The OSPCA is a non-profit group which receives all of its revenue from fundraising efforts.
