The Dryden Regional Airport has been bustling with activity the last few days as the facility acts as a transportation hub for fire evacuees.
On Sunday, 184-evacuees passed through the Airport from Ottawa to their home community of Kingfisher Lake.
3-Porter planes arrived throughout the day and evacuees were transferred to 6-smaller Dash 8 flights.
Yesterday, 179-Deer Lake residents arrived from Ottawa and Smith Falls, while 102-Kingfisher residents and 6-residents of Wawakapaywin spent time at the Airport.
Today (Tuesday) will see 2-scheduled flights with a 737 from Ottawa and smaller Dash 8 flights being used to transport roughly 238-residents back to Deer Lake.
The final day of transfers is expected tomorrow. (Wednesday)
Emergency personnel in Dryden say the transfer of residents has been smooth.
