Dryden Police Board Looking At Budget

City of Dryden departments continue to find ways of finding savings.

They have been told that total capital spending this year won’t exceed $1.5-million, forcing them to cut back.

Police Chief Doug Palson says he’s managed to get his budget down to about $40,000.

Palson says upgrades are needed to the building and jail cells and notes a fresh coat of paint could be used.

Palson adds he would like to equip cruisers with GPS technology and would ideally like a $50,000 contingency fund for emergencies, items that Palson says aren’t critical in the grand scheme of things.
