Another example of the willingness to give in Dryden.
The Dryden GM Ice Dogs and CKDR partnered with Ella Lynn’s to raffle off a special Cancer Awareness jersey on the morning show Thursday in support of the Oncology Unit at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
Dale Green had the winning bid of $1,500.
Green says cancer hits home as his father and his wife’s father both passed away from the disease.
Marty Marin had the second highest bid but has still decided to donate his $1,350 bid.
Marin says it’s a great cause as the Oncology Unit is always in need of the support.
He notes he has been a patient there and that’s why he’s pushing more to support the cause.
The Dryden GM Ice Dogs will take on the Fort Frances Lakers Friday night in the ‘Pink the Rink’ game.
The team will be wearing their special Cancer Awareness jerseys and some of the proceeds will go towards the local Oncology Clinic.
