Dryden Police Close To Hiring Special Constable

The Dryden Police Service is about to add to its team.

The Service is close to hiring a part-time Special Constable.

Chief of Police Doug Palson told Board of Directors that they have narrowed their search to one candidate out of five applicants.

Palson says they hope to have the constable in place by the end of the month.

Animal control and parking enforcement will be the primary duties, however the officer will be trained in all aspects of policing.

Palson is hoping the officer will be able to cover court security and prisoner transfer duties as well.
