The Dryden Police Service has joined the OPP to hold a Gun Amnesty this month.
Chief Doug Palson says you can now voluntarily surrender unwanted or illegally-owned firearms, weapons, accessories or ammunition.
Palson adds it’s a no-questions asked initiative.
Palson says they won’t pursue criminal charges if the weapons weren’t legally possessed or registered.
He adds the campaign is all about enhancing public safety and getting more guns off the street.
Police note there is no Amnesty offered for people who turn in weapons that have been used in the commission of a crime and no anonymous submissions will be accepted.
Call 223-3281 to arrange an appointment for an officer to safely retrieve the weapons.
