A Dryden Police Officer has received the first annual “These Boots Are Made For Walking” award.
It was presented to Detective Constable Paul Howarth at the Dryden Police Service Awards Night yesterday, and represents the number of hours he spent doing foot patrol.
Howarth says it’s a great way to interact with the community and deter crime.
Last year, Howarth spent 52-hours and 19-minutes patrolling the streets on foot.

Governor General Exemplary Service Award – Detective Sergeant Anne Tkachyk and Sergeant Scott Silver
Ontario Women in Law Enforcement Long Service Awards – Nancy Murdick (30 plus years of service), Norma Ray ( 30 plus years of service) and Lidia Sfreddo ( 25 years of service)
Long Service Badges – Constable Christopher Notte (5-years), Constable Tina Bisignano (5-years), Constable Kevin Hildebrand (15-years), Donna Cockle (15-years), Norma Ray (also 15-years) and Sergeant Dale Engestrom (25-years)
Certificates of Appreciation – Greg Johnson, Mark Lugli and Arin Boyko
Certificates of Recognition – Constable Terry Menard, Detective Constable Denise Szachury and Constable Jon Allen.
