Dryden Police Release Operation Impact Results

You’ve heard Operation Impact statistics from the Ontario Provincial Police in Northwestern Ontario, but now the Dryden Police Service is out with theirs.
Constable Kevin Hildebrand says the four day initiative saw a handful of charges.
Officers laid 9-speeding charges, one for someone who used an iPod while driving and another one for someone who used their phone behind the wheel.
In addition, police issued one ticket for improper use of a seat belt.
Hildebrand says motorists need to remember that it is illegal to even HOLD an electronic device while driving.
He adds police usually catch people who have their phones right up to their ear, as it’s hard to see what someone is doing when they are looking in their lap.
Nevertheless, Hildebrand says don’t risk injuring yourself or someone else, and keep your eyes on the road at all times.
