Two members of the Dryden Police Service were recognized at the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement awards ceremony in Mississauga.
Inspector Ann Tkachyk was recognized for 25 years of law enforcement.
Tkachyk began her career with the DPS on October 12th 1992 being the first female officer to join the ranks.
She was then promoted to Detective Sergeant in the Crime Unit, then was promoted to Inspector in December 2015.
Constable Denise Szachury was also nominated for the Excellence in Community Service Award.
This is in relation to Szachury’s work with student safety and well-being programming while also being the police services lead for Project Sunset, DAARN, Kids and Cops Fishing, Senior’s and Cops Fishing, Stuff the EMS and more.
