Inspector Ann Tkachyk says she will be working with her colleagues on a number initiatives for the New Year.
She stresses protecting the well being of officers is among the top priorities.
Tkachyk says establishing programs and initiatives to ensure officers stay mentally and physically healthy is crucial for the organization.
Janet Kaus has been trained in that area and she will be leading the campaign.
Tkachyk is also promising on initiatives to help victims of crime, noting the issue has been neglected across the country.
She adds accountability, professionalism and confidence will be themes of 2016.
