Dryden Pool Not Closing this Week or Next.

“Social Media” has been a-buzz with allegations that Dryden City Council is on the verge of either closing or seriously reducing services as early as Monday of next week. The story gained traction overnight and into this morning, prompting CKDR to contact the City for clarification.

In a press release issued to all area media, City CAO and the Mayor say “no decision regarding the operations at the Dryden Recreation Complex or any other City program or service has been made by City Council nor is scheduled to occur next week.”

It goes on to say the 2014 Budget process is underway and City Management will be bringing the first draft of the Budget to Council shortly.

The City also notes that it is committed to being open and transparent with the public during this ‘critical’ 2014 budget decision process.

In earlier comments, Dryden Mayor Craig Nuttall has been clear that all non-essential services are under review in the 2014 budget and all options, including reduced services or even terminating services are on the table.
