Dryden is set to host its first Pride event this Summer.
The community is following in the footsteps of Sioux Lookout and Kenora to start Pride celebrations.
Catherine Kiewning is one of the organizers of the June 10th event and she says support from the community has already been strong.
Kiewning says they have a group of ten organizing activities and are always looking for additional help.
The day will include a ceremony at City Hall with speeches and a parade to Cooper Park for ‘Pride in the Park’ celebrations.
Kiewning says there will live music, information booths, guest speakers and family oriented activities at the event.
Dryden Pride is sponsored by the Northwestern Health Unit.
