If you want to hit the gym or go for a swim, you’ll need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to use the Dryden Recreation Centre now.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is in effect as of today (September 22) in Ontario in order to access certain businesses and settings.
City officials says those 12 years of age and older who want to enter the fitness centre or recreation facilities must provide proof of vaccination and government issued identification.
Officials remind the public you are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after of receiving your second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
To protect privacy, the City says information will not be recorded and patrons must show vaccine documentation every time they enter to use the facility.
If you are medically exempt, you must provide a letter from a physician or nurse practitioner detailing the exemption that meets provincial legislated requirements.
Children 12-17 years old who are participating in organized sports, including swimming lessons, swim club practices, hockey, figure skating, skating or pick up sports targeted at that age group do not have to provide proof of vaccination.
Sport organizations renting City facilities are required to enforce the same regulations and may have separate vaccination requirements for participants as part of their organizations mandate.
