Dryden Recipients Honoured With Diamond Jubilee

The Center in Dryden was a full house last night.
That’s because a group of Dryden residents were presented with a Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Kenora MP Greg Rickford presented the medals, and says that the recipients have continued to provide outstanding support for their community, in a number of ways.
Medal recipients are:
– Vivian Adair for her volunteerism and community service, 40 years of service to the Royal Canadian Legion and her dedication to the Anglican Church choir.
– Michelle Arsenault for her youth leadership roles and strong advocacy for greener living.
– Warren Copeland for his volunteer and community service, including his care for children through the Shriners.
– Maurice Frenette for his dedication and commitment to the memory of fallen veterans of the surrounding area.
– Millie Flamand for her sharing and caring for others through her volunteerism and efforts to help people strive for a more productive life.
– Rena Fortheringham for her devotion to youth through her teaching of piano and organ lessons for 74 years in Dryden and the surrounding area.
– William Hastings for his dedication in service to the Royal Canadian Legion and membership for 64 years.
– Daniel Landrie for his volunteerism and promoting firearm safety to children, youth and adults of Northwestern Ontario
– Louis Maltais for his lifetime commitment to volunteerism and community service.
– Ted Mitchell for his volunteerism and leadership to the community’s youth through the local 906 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron.
